The Sinai-Grace Comprehensive Cardiac Center provides specialized testing and treatment for heart-related conditions, such as congestive heart failure, heart attacks and heart rhythm problems. Echocardiograms, stress tests and a state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization laboratory are used to diagnose cardiac problems. When necessary, open heart surgery is performed by board-certified cardiothoracic surgeons in three specially designed operating rooms.
            Recently, $4 million was invested to build an additional catheterization laboratory and renovate the cardiac inpatient unit as well as the family waiting room. 3 West, the cardiac specialty unit, now offers enhanced patient amenities as well as a streamlined direct admit process in which a patient can go directly from their physician’s office to their hospital room.  
            In 2005, Sinai-Grace was selected as one of only ten hospitals nationwide to receive a grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation for a Healthy Heart Outreach Program. The program’s goal is to help local residents with congestive heart failure to better manage their disease. The care provided is free and assistance is available for insurance, medicine and transportation.
